About

Artem Chagin, founder of Reliability Layer

I build automations that do not break at 2 AM.

Background

I spent a year verifying 1,000+ invoices per month at Siemens SSC. The same failures kept repeating: missing fields, duplicate records, and OCR double-reads that pushed exceptions downstream.

That taught me one thing: the hard part of automation is not connecting tools. The hard part is what happens when retries hit, data is incomplete, and one branch fails mid-run.

Now I design workflows that handle failure by design, not by luck. That is the operating standard behind Reliability Layer.

Finance ops at Siemens SSC

Verified 1,000+ AP invoices per month with three-way matching, duplicate detection, and exception queue resolution.

VAT automation in production

Built and supported a Python VAT filing workflow running for 2+ years, 3 to 4 filings per month, with zero rejected submissions.

LLM evaluation projects

Delivered NDA quality and reliability evaluation work with Scale AI and Invisible Technologies focused on failure-mode analysis.

A detailed production example is available in the VAT automation case study.

Why Reliability Layer

Most automation consultants build for demo day. I build for month six, when edge cases arrive, retry behavior changes, and nobody wants another cleanup backlog.

Reliability Layer means your workflow keeps working not because someone is watching it all day, but because the system was designed to absorb failures safely and stay auditable under real production pressure.

The execution details still include idempotency, validation, owner routing, and run-level traceability. The difference is the operating principle: production first, happy path second.

The same delivery process is documented on the How It Works page.
